Out in the World: How Fairmont Senior Living
Our residents stay woven into the fabric of St. Louis year-round, from summer nights at the Muny to fall afternoons in the Eckert’s Farm pumpkin patch. Life at Fairmont Senior Living on Clayton doesn’t stop at the front door.
At Fairmont Senior Living on Clayton, staying engaged in the community isn’t a line on an activity calendar. It’s a regular part of life here, built into the way we think about what a good day looks like for our residents. The Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® that guides our approach to assisted living is grounded in the belief that purpose and connection don’t retire. Our outings are one of the clearest expressions of that.
Big Shows, Big Games, and Nights Worth Remembering
There’s a particular kind of energy that comes from being part of a live event, surrounded by other people who are exactly where they want to be. Our residents feel that at the Muny, where they take in musical performances at one of St. Louis’s most iconic outdoor stages in Forest Park. The open sky, the warm evenings, the shared experience of a show well done, those are the kinds of nights that travel home with you and keep coming up in conversation.
When the Harlem Globetrotters come to town, our residents are in the stands. The crowd’s energy and the showmanship on the floor make for an afternoon that brings everyone home in a good mood.
History, Curiosity, and at Least One Edible Highlight
Our residents bring a lifetime of curiosity with them, and the outings we plan reflect that. A trip to the Lewis and Clark Boathouse and Museum in St. Charles takes residents to one of Missouri’s most significant historical sites, where the Missouri River still runs right alongside the story of one of the country’s most celebrated expeditions.
A visit to a local car museum came with lunch and a morning spent admiring classic vehicles, with plenty of stories traded about the cars residents drove and remembered from their own years on the road. The chocolate factory tour earned its place on the outing list quickly, for the obvious reason: samples.
Our residents have also made their way out to see the Clydesdales [NEEDS VERIFICATION: specific farm or venue name], a St. Louis tradition that feels timeless no matter how many times you’ve stood next to one of those horses.

Every Season Has Its Own Outing
Spring means a visit to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, where our residents walk among the blooms and spend a few hours in one of the most beautiful settings the city has to offer. When fall arrives, we head to Eckert’s Farm, and we go back more than once. Depending on the trip, that means a sit-down lunch out in the country, a stroll along the tulip trail, time spent in the country store, or a walk through the pumpkin patch when the season is at its peak. Eckert’s isn’t a one-time event for our residents. It’s a rhythm they count on.
Between bigger outings, the card table draws its own loyal crowd. Afternoon card games are one of the most consistent social anchors in the community, keeping friendships active and giving residents something to win or concede gracefully on a quieter day.
A Community That’s Always Part of St. Louis
Families choosing a senior living community for someone they love want to know that life there will feel full. At Fairmont Senior Living on Clayton, our residents stay active in the city they’ve called home, returning to the places they’ve always loved and building new memories alongside the ones they’ve carried for years.
The Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® that guides everything we do here is built around engagement, meaning, and connection. Our outings are one of the most visible expressions of that. They’re not extras on the calendar. They’re part of how we help our residents live well.
